Confess

I walk into the fog and confess that I,
miss you like draught to water,
need you like a clock to time, and
think of you as a philosopher does of his existence.

I step into the sea and whisper that I wish to
swim into you as I do into him,
allow you entrance as it does to me, and
let us submerge first and then breathe. 

I stroll alone at ask the night to 
protect you from evil,
hide you from danger, and
keep you from fear.

I look up to the sun and demand he
illuminates me as only he knows,
warms me as only you know how, and
make me shine when dreams come true.

I kneel and pray to Him to
protect us from uncertainty, 
endow us with mutual understanding, and
permit us to love and never fade into oblivion.

Le confieso a la niebla
que te extraño como la sequía al agua 
que te necesito como el reloj al tiempo
que te pienso como el filósofo a su existencia

Le susurro al mar
que me deje nadar en ti como en él
que te adentres en mi como yo en él 
que después de sumergirnos…respirar

Le pido a la noche
que te cuide de la maldad
que te esconda del peligro
que te guarde del miedo

Le grito al sol
que me ilumine como solo él sabe
que me caliente como solo tú puedes
que me haga brillar con sueños cumplidos

Le rezo a El
que nos proteja ante la incertidumbre
que nos llene de mutuo entendimiento
que nos permita amarnos sin olvido.
