Under the Sky: A Day of Loss

The sky and the sun

I lay under the sky,
and while
the bright sun warmed up
my soul,
the autumn wind cooled down
my naked face

such as the heat of passion
and the coldness of unrequited love

such as the heat of hate
and the coldness of disdain

such as the heat of ambition
and the coldness of greed

such as the heat of friendship
and the coldness of enmity

such as the heat of your company
and the coldness of your unannounced abandonment.

So long,
until we meet again.
